25 may 2009 the Giro d'Italia is coming our way. A heavy day, 237 km long with a lot of climbing and arrival on top.
Departure is Pergola 6 km from here, arrival Cagli 25 km from here. Easy choosing a nice spot to go and watch them.
Go and have a look or try (part of it) to do it yourself? Our camping is a good base.

Some weeks now a cable-lift is going up the Monte Catria / Acuto from Frontone.
It's possible hiking around there or in wintertime go for skiing.
A towing lift takes you further above to 2 pistes. When enough snow has fallen you can go down all the way to cable-lift departure.

 

Introduction

In the 'Marches', Italy, between the mediaevel towns off Pergola and Arcevia, is situated our small campsite: agriturismo 'Sensazione'. Besides apartments and 2 large tents for rent on our camping there is some farming activities.
The hilly surroundings are characterised by small plots of cultivated land combined with woods.
Here you'll find lots of ancient villages and towns. We are situated right between sea and Appenines, both half an hour drive away. The mountaintops form the natural border between the Marches and Umbria.

'Sensazione' encloses besides the campsite a plot cultivated with lavender. First part of july we harvest the flowers and distillate. Another plot is the habitat for our 4 goats (in january we expect some newborn) and the pony. This plot also provides the hay necessary in wintertime. Some chickens are walking around as well. A vegetable garden will produce some fresh products for sale. Last but not least there's some wood in our property that invites walking around and gives warmth in wintertimes.

Sometime in spring 2009 a swimming-pool will be a fact.
This pool is finally big enough for a nice plunge. Photographs are not yet available, as soon we have some, we'll put them on this site.

You can make beautiful walking trips near our house; a path behind the house leads you straight up into the woods.
If you are in a rather good form, you could choose to discover the surroundings by bike. We can rent you the Mountain-bikes.
By car you have the possibility to explore the beautiful surroundings, marvelous landscapes wherever you look, the sea with both sand and shingle beaches and of course numberless of cities and towns. To name just a few of them: Urbino, Gubbio, Perugia and Assisi. But it is also nice to visit the towns in the neighbourhood; it is really nice to stroll around them.
Almost unnecessary to add is that there are lots of fantastic places where you can eat delicious meals. We have several suggestions for places in the near surroundings.

Did you know Ryanair is flying cheap from London (Stansted) to Ancona which is a 3 quarter drive away?
We made a special arrangement for our apartment and the tents for rent.
You can book a midweek, monday to friday, 4 nights or a long weekend, friday to monday. Costs are visible on the apartment- and campsite pages.
